Fazilka: Three persons had been booked after a man was killed with sharp-edged weapons over an old enmity in Muradwala village of Fazilka district on Thursday. In his statement to the police, Surinder Kumar, a resident of Muradwala, said his brother Pawan and nephew Kuldeep had returned home when some assailants surrounded them and attacked them with sharp-edged weapons, injuring them critically.

Later, Pawan and Kuldeep were taken to the civil hospital in Fazilka, where the former was declared dead. Seeing Kuldeep’s injuries, the doctor on duty referred him to Faridkot medical college after primary treatment, Surinder alleged in his statement.The police registered a case against three people in this matter. The police said action was being taken against the accused.Khui Khera station house officer (SHO) Hardev Singh Bedi said accused Harjinder Singh and Pawan worked together as labourers. “About a year ago, they fought over something while being intoxicated, and the same enmity led to another fight now. On the complaint of Surinder Kumar, the police have registered a case against three men, including Harjinder. The accused will be nabbed shortly,” the SHO said.
