Rajkot: A 40-year-old man was stabbed to death in Jamnagar on Friday morning, allegedly by his brother-in-law — who opposed his marriage — and an accomplice. Police said Manish Mori and his friend Sohil Sodha went to Adinath Apartments in the Pancheshwar Tower area of Jamnagar to take Mori’s sister, Pooja, back home. She refused to leave her husband, Nilay Kundaliya. Around 10.15am, the duo confronted Nilay and stabbed him with knives before fleeing. Nilay’s mother, Usha Kundaliya, 65, later filed a complaint at Jamnagar City A Division police station. The FIR states that Nilay married Pooja Mori on June 30, 2025, a match that Manish opposed. On Friday, Manish and Sodha argued with Nilay and demanded that Pooja return with them. When she refused to go with them, the two allegedly attacked Nilay. Pooja and Usha tried to stop them, and Pooja suffered cuts on her hands. Nilay was rushed to GG Hospital in an ambulance but was declared dead on arrival. Police booked the accused under Sections 103(1), 54 and 118(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigating officer N A Chavda said both men were caught soon after the attack, and efforts are underway to recover the weapons used. Police said Nilay worked for a private company.
